Privacy Policy

The short version: YouJotted stores your notes and tasks locally in your own browser. YouJotted cannot access, read, or modify your notes and reminder data — there is no server that receives it, and no sign-up or login is needed to use the extension. If you buy a license, your purchase is handled by Lemon Squeezy, who keeps an account for your order — that account is for billing only and is separate from your notes, which never leave your device.

What the extension accesses

YouJotted is a local-first scratchpad. To do its job it uses a small set of browser capabilities:

Storage — your notes, tasks and (if you buy Pro) your license activation state are saved in your browser's local extension storage on your own device.
Alarms & notifications — to fire reminders for tasks you schedule.

Your note and task content is never transmitted to us or to any third party. It stays on the machine where you created it.

License activation (Pro only)

If you purchase a Pro or Teams license, activating it sends your license key to our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, solely to verify the key is valid and active. The extension stores the resulting activation token locally and re-checks validity periodically. We do not receive or store your payment details — those are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy as the merchant of record. See the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy for how they process checkout data.

What we do not do

No analytics or tracking inside the extension.
No selling or transferring of user data to third parties.
No use of your data for advertising, profiling, or creditworthiness.
No reading of the pages you browse — YouJotted has no access to your web content or browsing history.

Your data, your control

Because everything is stored locally, you can remove all of it at any time by deleting your notes and tasks within the extension, or by removing the extension from your browser. Uninstalling clears its local storage.
